Born in New Mexico and raised in the Chandler/Gilbert area of the Valley of the Sun, Michelle Martin has always been fascinated by the art and science of human behavior. This passion led her to Northern Arizona University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, laying the groundwork for a career dedicated to understanding and supporting others.
Michelle brings over 17 years of experience in substance use treatment to her practice. She began her journey with a 13-year tenure at The Guidance Center, followed by four years at Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH). During her time at NAH, she served as lead counselor and liaison to the Coconino County Recovery Court team. Fueled by her commitment to growth and learning, Michelle returned to school and earned her Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2021.
Now, as the founder of Safe Harbor Counseling in Flagstaff, AZ, Michelle is dedicated to creating a space where individuals feel supported, understood, and empowered. She specializes in guiding clients through self-discovery, healing, and growth, helping them uncover their inner strengths and embrace meaningful change.
